Well I seem to have forgotten to update for a while, so heres a good one for you.
We have one week left until our new house is actually ours. We take possession next Saturday at 3:00 pm. We have given in our down payment and have some meetings with the lawyer and the insurance place on Monday. Apparently they want to lecture us and get our signatures. I'm going to soak up the attention :P.
Its been nice and hot this past week. I mowed the lawn yesterday because I thought it was getting a little long. Apparently my perception of long between my eyes and my brain was screwed up cause it didn't look to long, but once I started mowing it, I was moving through 5 or 6 inch grass....with a manual lawn mower. You know, the one you have to push to spin the blades. Yep, thats what I was using alright. What probably would have been 20 minute job with a electric or gas mower was about an hour struggle with this thing. I'm glad I'm going to be getting a new lawn mower. Our new place is on .41 acres, though about .1 acres of it has trees on it, unable to be mowed. But for the rest, here I come.
On that note, I've been looking into what type of lawn mower I want. I was looking at cordless battery powered ones, but even though they are green, I can't justify spending double on a lawn mower just to be green, so I think I'm going to go with a gas mower. Yes electric mower could also be consitered green, but they just don't have the power that a gas mower does. And of course, just for the guy factor, I think I'm going to have to get at least a 170cc lawnmower over the 140-160cc lawnmowers just cause its bigger and more powerful. (*Tim "The Toolman" Talyor gunt here*)
Other than that, not a lot else is happening. Just kinda prepping for the move. We will be having a bbq dinner next Sunday after moving all of the stuff for all the people who have helped. Should be good. Burgers, and hot dogs and chips and pop and yum. All on our new deck :D. Wish us luck.
